These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of The Finderr website, Finderr tags, the owner account, and the scan-to-contact recovery service (together, the "Service"), operated by Madshades Technologies Private Limited ("Finderr", "we", "us", "our"). By purchasing a tag, creating an account, or activating a tag, you ("you", "the owner") agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect and how we use it, and forms part of these Terms by reference.
1. What Finderr Provides
Finderr provides:
- A physical QR tag that can be affixed to your belongings.
- A secure public recovery page that opens when the tag is scanned — no app required for the finder.
- A masked communication bridge that lets a finder call or message you without ever seeing your real phone number.
Finderr does not track or locate items. We do not provide live location tracking of lost items, we do not guarantee recovery of any item, and the Service is not a form of insurance. Recovery depends on a finder scanning the tag and choosing to make contact.
2. Eligibility and Your Account
- You must be at least 18 years old, or using the Service under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian, to create an account and purchase tags.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide when registering a tag, and for keeping your account credentials confidential.
- You may register a tag against any item category you choose (e.g., keys, pet, bag, vehicle) and may assign it a nickname or label, as described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Acceptable Use
When using the Finderr tag or the recovery page, you agree that you will not:
- Include contact details, home addresses, identity numbers, or a child's full name in any label or message displayed on a tag's public recovery page.
- Use the masked communication bridge to harass, threaten, or repeatedly contact anyone, including finders.
- Attempt to enumerate, scrape, or systematically look up the Finderr tag IDs, or otherwise probe the Service in a way it is not intended to be used.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in a way that infringes the rights of others.
Lookups against tag IDs are rate-limited, and we may block sessions that show patterns of automated or abusive access.
4. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend the communication bridge on a tag, block a session, or deactivate an account where we reasonably detect abuse, a safety risk, or a pattern of automated lookups. Where we suspend a tag you own, we will notify you and explain why. You may also deactivate your own account at any time by contacting us at the address below, subject to the retention obligations described in our Privacy Policy (for example, billing records we must keep to comply with tax law).
5. Orders, Payment, and Tags
- Tag packs are a one-time purchase. Prices shown on the website are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
- Payments are processed through Razorpay, our third-party payment gateway. We do not store your full card details — see our Privacy Policy for details on how payment information is handled.
- Orders are fulfilled and shipped with the help of our logistics partner, Shiprocket.
- Cancellations, returns, and refunds are handled in line with the policy published on our website at the time of your order.
6. The Masked Communication Bridge
When a finder scans your tag, they reach a secure web page and may contact you by call or message through our masked-calling partner, Exotel, without ever seeing your real phone number. We do not track or store the finder's location or identity. Because this bridge depends on third-party telecom infrastructure, call or message quality and availability are not guaranteed and may be affected by network conditions outside our control.
7. Intellectual Property
The Finderr name, logo, website, tag designs, and underlying software are the property of Madshades Technologies Private Limited or its licensors, and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the Service except as expressly permitted by us.
8. Third-Party Service Providers
To operate the Service, we rely on trusted technology and infrastructure partners, including our hosting provider (Vercel), our masked-calling/telecom partner (Exotel), our logistics partner (Shiprocket), and our payment gateway (Razorpay). Use of the Service is also subject to the terms of these providers where applicable. Further detail on how data is shared with these partners is set out in our Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We do not guarantee that a lost item will be recovered, that a finder will scan a tag, or that the communication bridge will always be available or uninterrupted.
- We are not liable for the conduct of any finder who contacts you through the Service, or for any loss, damage, or dispute arising from that contact.
- Our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the tag(s) giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable Indian law.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, our practices, or applicable law. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and material changes will be communicated to you through the website or by email where appropriate. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law and Grievance Redressal
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
If you have any questions about these Terms, or wish to raise a complaint, please contact our designated Grievance Officer:
